Lychee - Kiamana

$74.00

Excellent backyard variety. Medium-sized, compact, rounded tree that usually matures fruit from mid- Dec. through Jan. Considered good bearing compared with most other cultivars, especially consistent in areas with warm winters. Its fruits are large, deep red, and 33-40 to a kilogram, with seeds that are not large in relation to the amount of flesh.

Lime - Tahitian

$37.00 ($37.00-$69.00 choose a size)

The small to medium fruit is pale lemon-yellow with smooth thin skin. The flesh is a translucent pale green, tender and juicy with a true acid lime flavour. It is best to pick the fruit green as it can suffer from rot if left to ripen on the tree.

Soursop Mountain

$29.00 ($29.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Also known as Wild Soursop the fruit has lemon coloured smooth flesh. The fruit is round, with a pale green/yellow skin when ripe. Quality is inferior to the common Soursop, but its hardiness makes it useful You could use this variety to graft onto in colder regions. The skin is less spiky than that of the soursop. Much hardier than soursop tolerating temperatures down to -2 degrees, dry conditions and a wide range of soils. Will grown in full sun or part shade. Trees can reach up to 8m and seedling trees often produce fruit after just 2-3 years.

Soh Shang

$34.95

Medium, spreading woody shrub producing plum sized red fruits. The fruit is best when fully ripened, is sweet and jelly like with some astringency. It is often eaten with salt or as juice or chutney. The flesh can be sucked from the seed. It has notable nutritional benefits. The plant fixes nitrogen with the aid of symbiotic soil bacteria and is a good addition to food forest systems. It is originally from India. The native Millaa Millaa vine looks very similar with smaller fruits and overall size. Drought hardy.

Lemon Drop Mangosteen

$34.95 ($25.90-$49.00 choose a size)

Very attractive slow growing tree, with dark green leathery leaves. Native to wet forests of Central America.Oval shaped fruits are produced in summer reaching up to 2cm. The white pulp has a pleasant subacid aromatic flavour, with a similar flavour to the Achacha.Very ornamental making an excellent display potted plant. While the tree may not produce fruit in colder regions, the leaves are quite cold hardy and can tolerate winter conditions. May require protection from frosts when young. The tree hardy to most soil conditions and is not nutrient demanding. Featured in our newsletter

Citron - Buddhas Hand

Love this fruit. I make jams, cordials and tea from it. So easy to grow in south east Qld. Grows faster than other citrus trees and doesn't need watering.

This has always been a scabby looking tree, but has always produced wonderful fruit.  Have to keep up the white oil to it though because scale insects love it.
